About this tool

How Sign PDF works

To add a visual signature to a PDF, choose the document, draw or type your signature, place it on the page, and download the signed copy.

Draw or type a visual signature, choose its color, and place it on any page in the shared PDF editor.

Sign PDF lets you add your signature to a document without printing, signing and scanning it again. Draw it with a mouse or finger, or type it in a signature style, choose a colour, then place and resize it on any page. It suits everyday paperwork such as rental forms, permission slips and internal approvals. Note that this adds a visible signature image only; it is not a certificate-based digital signature and should not be used where one is legally required.

Step by step

  1. 1Choose a PDF; the editor opens on its last page.
  2. 2Choose Draw or Type from the Sign menu and place the signature.
  3. 3Move or resize it as needed, then download the signed PDF.

Common uses

  • Add a handwritten mark to an agreement
  • Place initials or a typed signature
  • Sign a form that does not require a digital certificate

Details and common questions

Which files are supported?

One PDF.

What result will I receive?

One PDF containing the placed visual signature and any other retained edits.

What should I know before using it?
  • This creates a visual signature, not a certificate-backed cryptographic signature.
  • A signature is kept only for the current browser tab unless the product explicitly adds secure persistence later.
  • Do not use this workflow when a regulated digital-signature certificate is required.
Can I move the signature to another page?

Yes. Eligible placed signatures can be dragged across pages in the continuous editor.

Is my signature uploaded?

No. Signature drawing and placement are performed in the current browser session.

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?

Open the PDF, choose Sign, draw or type your signature, place it where it belongs, and download the signed copy. No printer or scanner is needed.

Is a signature added with PDF Eye legally binding?

PDF Eye adds a visual signature, not a cryptographic one. Whether that is accepted depends on the document and jurisdiction, so check the requirements of whoever asked for your signature.
